Project Overview
Client: Microsoft
Site: New Delhi, India with a site area of (~47.6 acres)
Timeline: 1 year (2022)
My Role: User Research, Architectural Design, MasterPlanning, Spatial Branding, Interior Design
Microsoft tasked us with designing a net-zero carbon–neutral office campus for a workforce of 6,000—envisioned as a holistic environment that integrates interactive and team-based workspaces with amenities for recreation, play, and leisure.

Problem Space
This project responds to that challenge—creating a dynamic, Net-Zero campus where people can live, work, and create in comfort. Designed around user needs, it supports well-being and creativity while also acting as a catalyst for neighborhood growth and environmental renewal.

Design Schema
Prototypes and Design Values:
Sustainable & Inclusive: Designed for a diverse workforce, aiming for carbon neutrality.
Climate-Responsive: Aligned with local environment and context.
Walkable Campus: Pedestrian-friendly and vehicle-free.
Adaptable Systems: Flexible and future-proof spaces.
Variety of Experiences: Options for work, food, leisure, and interaction.
Indoor-Outdoor Flow: Seamless, wellness-focused transitions.
Collaborative Spaces: Encouraging teamwork and creativity.
Unique Identity: A campus with a clear and lasting character.

Masterplanning Approach
The campus masterplan features a segregated mobility system, ensuring safety and quality of life, with all facilities within a 10-minute walk or bike ride. It incorporates traditional building methods and local community involvement.
As a "Smart Intelligent Eco-campus," it integrates sustainability across landscape, biodiversity, energy, and ICT. The campus promotes biodiversity corridors and protected habitats, even in a dry climate, aiming for near-zero emissions with flexible, future-ready expansion.
Amenities enhance employee life with spaces for leisure, recreation, and growth.

Interior Design Approach
Sustainable materials like poured earth and bamboo support carbon neutrality, while Indian aesthetics ground the design in local context. Team-based layouts include focus rooms, phone booths, and scrum areas, centered around a shared hub with a canteen, meeting spaces, and leisure zones.

Reflection
This project emphasized cross-functional collaboration with MEP consultants, sustainability experts, and client teams, while deepening my understanding of designing a corporate campus that balances functional workspaces, integrated amenities, and the diverse needs of employees, families, staff, and visitors.
